“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who’s going to stop me.” - Ayn Rand

Meet Lily. She has been making chocolate in Trujillo for two years, most recently for the Trujillo Bay Chocolate Company, which donates a portion of their profits to Marea Foundation’s medical outreach projects. She now overseas all chocolate production for the company and brings in her daughter and sister to help when large orders come in.

They live on a compound with all of their extended family. For a long time, they survived hand-to-mouth, however this job has provided the opportunity for them to save and practice fiscal responsibility. Now they not only have savings for themselves, but for their children as well.

Lily finds passion in her profession and is proud to oversee the entire creation process of their chocolate - from harvesting the cacao, processing the cacao butter, to packaging the finished product. She is incredibly proud to create something that can be enjoyed by people all over the world.

The Trujillo Bay Chocolate Company purchases all of their cacao and cacao products from the co-op that Lily and the other cacao farmers are a part of, which ensures that, not only are all the farmers and producers paid fair-market prices, but the most benefit goes to those actually growing the crop.

To try some of their wonderfully delicious chocolate, please visit Trujillo Bay Chocolate Company to place an order! And as always, stay tuned for updates and contact us (scroll to the bottom of the homepage) to discover what role(s) you can play.
